IN TOWN, LOOKING LIKE YOU’RE ON VACATION EVA&BERNARD S/S 2012
In their new Spring/summer 2016 collection Berlin based fashion label Eva & Bernard meant to focus on the ›easy‹ side of ›Easy Tailoring‹, their coined motto; to employ a less severe approach in the design process and to choose cheerful, lighthearted colors. the styles were designed to express cool effortlessness and show generous volume. the designers have been looking at images of old rural Spanish houses and architecture, and their modern renditions in places like Santa Monica in LA. the arch shape employed in them and the beautiful pastel colors of pink, light blue and ecru attracted Eva’s and Bernard’s attention, and they wanted to translate all these moods into the new collection for S/S 2012.
Silk plays a lead role in the collection, which offers as well a great variety of fine cotton, viscose, jersey, cupro, linen, ramie and knitted cashmere. All fabrics were sourced in Switzerland and Italy, where the collection is produced. the blue color, which was missing from previous collections, is at the core of the new one, with texture and tone variations. Around the blue the designers gathered up such colors as peach, pink, orange, bronze, grey black and white. This season the brand offers leather accessories for the first time!

Danish fashion designer Henrik Vibskov has developed a unisex fragrance series named TYPE. the series consists of three scents that reflect a specific moment in time in three different cities: Berlin, Copenhagen and Damascus.
TYPE B, for Berlin, captures a cold winter"s day in the former Eastern part of the city, where – even today – numerous buildings and houses are heated with coal. While the scent starts with spicy and fizzy top notes (black pepper, sulphur match), it soon ignites its soft woody heart (cedarwood, vetyver, gaiac wood) and evolves towards an unexpected, yet cosy and welcoming musky black wood dry down (birch and coal tar), recollective of smoky and leatherish odors on the streets of Pankow.
TYPE C, for Copenhagen – Henrik"s homebase and creative cradle – is reminiscent of the salty air and fresh waters experienced on boating trips outside Trekroner fortress at the entrance to Copenhagen’s harbour, the best place to catch herrings. Fresh and tonic, TYPE C begins with a clear harmony of citrus (bergamot, mandarin, lemon) mixed with an ozonic sea breeze accord, marked by salty and solar facets. the drydown is a comfortable woody blend, enriched with the key note of the fragrance, sea weed.
TYPE D, for Damascus, is inspired by the fantasy of the Middle East and the ancient marketplaces of Damascus on a hot summer"s day – down the colourful, narrow streets where the air is saturated with a rich collection of enticing scents. Starting with the freshness of a spicy, citrus accord (bergamot, pink pepper), the scent soon unfolds into a warm and opulent floral boúqúet (jasmine, orange flower, ginger bread, cinnamon). the rich and sensual drydown unveils a woody, balsamic harmony of styrax wood, sandalwood, tonka bean and vanilla.

The "Tchaikovsky" Collection is inspired by the "Black Swan" movie (2010), the two characters from "Swan Lake" are the focus of the collection and they "appear on stage" as expressive drawings.

The mirror-shaped pendant is the illustration of the White Swan character, a symbol of purity and feminity. The knitted shirt has manually applied pink-salmon ruffles and tulle and the central part is decorated with textile weaving and effective metallic applications.
